Discipline Over Everything: Follow the Plan Like Your Goals Depend on It (Because They Do)

Let’s get right into it, because if there’s one thing I know for sure—it’s that discipline will take you places motivation never could.
If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably had moments where you felt so inspired, so ready to crush every workout, meal prep like a pro, and hit all your macros. And then life shows up. Suddenly, your schedule gets crazy, your mood shifts, and that fire you had? It fizzles out real quick.
But here’s the thing: your results don’t care about your mood. They care about your consistency. That’s where discipline steps in.
Discipline is doing what you said you’d do—even when the vibe isn’t vibing. It’s sticking to the plan as it was written, not as you feel like doing it that day. When I write training programs for my clients, every set, every rep, every rest period has a purpose. Changing the plan just because it feels “too hard” or “too boring” is like rewriting the blueprint halfway through building a house. You can’t expect the same masterpiece.
You don’t need more motivation—you need more structure. And you need to trust that the version of you who made the plan knew exactly what she was doing.
Here’s my challenge to you this month:
Follow the plan. Just as it is. No tweaks. No shortcuts.
Let it teach you what you’re really made of. You’ll surprise yourself with how much stronger you feel—physically, mentally, and emotionally—when you just do the work.
And yes, it’s hard. But baby, so are you.
XO,
Coach LEE
